On August 8th, we mark what would have been Miles James Bishop’s 4th birthday. This is a day that carries immense weight, love, and meaning for our family and our community. In honor of his beautiful spirit, we hosted our 2nd annual Mighty Miles Toy Drive, and once again, we were blown away by your generosity.

Thanks to your support, we collected an incredible number of toys to UW Children’s Hospital and the Milwaukee Children’s Hospital ICU. These gifts will brighten hospital rooms, lift spirits, and remind families going through the unimaginable that they are not alone.

When a child is facing a medical crisis, a toy can be more than just a distraction, it becomes a symbol of hope, joy, and normalcy. We know firsthand how heavy those hospital walls can feel. We also know how powerful a smile, a moment of play, or a simple act of kindness can be. That’s why this toy drive means so much; not just to us, but to the children and families receiving these gifts.

This year, your compassion helped us reach even more kids, and with it, Miles’ light continues to shine.

We want to give a special thank you to the individuals and organizations who made this possible:

💙 Vicki Berning and Walgreens of Reedsburg

💙 Joni Blau, Dr. Amy Grelle, and the UW Cross Plains Clinic

💙 Becky Peterson with Peterson’s and Company Gym

💙 Ed and Paula Herman with Turning Point Church

💙 Kelly Honnold and Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston

💙 Thresea Grimes, Carol Wilkes, and all the staff at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie

Each donation, big or small, helps us deliver comfort to hospital rooms that can often feel cold and unfamiliar. With every toy, you helped a child smile like Miles.

We created The Mighty Miles Foundation to honor a boy who changed our world with his strength, his joy, and his unforgettable smile. This toy drive is a way to carry forward his legacy. Not in sorrow, but in celebration of the love he shared with everyone lucky enough to know him.

Thank you for helping us turn grief into giving, and for being part of this mission of hope. We truly are making a difference together, one smile at a time.

With endless gratitude,

The Mighty Miles Foundation
